Pre-Pointe Appointment
Thinking about going en pointe? This appointment helps dancers and parents understand where the dancer is in their pointe-readiness progression.
Using the To The Pointe Cinderella™ Pointe Fitting Method, we look at strength, balance, alignment, control, articulation, and overall readiness—not simply age, grade, or years of ballet.
Our goal is to help dancers build the foundation they need before pointe shoes become part of their training.
*A pre-pointe appointment is not required, but if you would like a readiness evaluation, please confirm that a certified pointe fitter is available when booking. Available with Hannah or Megan.
PrePointe Education
Getting ready for pointe is about more than simply finding a pair of pointe shoes. At To The Pointe, we believe pointe should be a progression—not a deadline. Our Pre-Pointe Appointment is designed to help dancers, parents, and teachers better understand the dancer’s current strength, coordination, alignment, and pointe readiness before purchasing pointe shoes.Using the To The Pointe Cinderella™ Pointe Fitting Method, we look at the dancer as an individual—not simply their age, grade, years of ballet, or the shoe their classmates are wearing.
What we look at:
-
Single-leg strength and control
-
Relevé and sauté quality
-
Balance and stability
-
Alignment and weight placement
-
Foot and ankle articulation
-
Coordination and control
-
Basic pointe-readiness movements
-
Areas that may need additional strengthening or development
We may also discuss common signs that a dancer is not quite ready yet and provide suggestions for working toward pointe safely and successfully.
Our goal is never to rush a dancer onto pointe. We want to help each dancer build the strength, control, and understanding needed to make pointe a successful progression.
A Pre-Pointe Appointment is not required to purchase pointe shoes. However, if you are specifically coming in for a pre-pointe evaluation, please make sure a certified pointe fitter is available when booking.
Both Hannah and Megan are available for pre-pointe appointments.
Please note: To The Pointe provides pointe-fitting education and readiness guidance but does not provide medical evaluations or diagnose injuries or conditions. When appropriate, we may recommend consultation with a qualified dance medicine professional or physical therapist.
