Meet Hannah Grimes
Born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Hannah began ballet at just three years old before entering pre-professional training at age ten with Pine Belt Youth Ballet under the direction of Yvonne Bergeron. Throughout her training she studied under internationally respected teachers including Henry Danton, an original member of Sadler's Wells Ballet (now The Royal Ballet), and later continued her training at Boston Ballet School under the direction of Margaret Tracey and Christopher Hird. She also attended prestigious summer intensive programs across the country and studied internationally in Prague, Paris, and London. Hannah was a Youth America Grand Prix Semi-Finalist and placed among the Top 12 dancers in 2007.
Although her professional ballet career was cut short due to injuries caused by improperly fitted pointe shoes, that experience became the foundation of her life's work.
Today, Hannah has transformed that personal experience into one of the most specialized pointe shoe fitting programs in the region.
Every pointe shoe fitting at To The Pointe follows the store's proprietary fitting method—a comprehensive process developed through years of studying foot anatomy, ballet biomechanics, dancer development, and injury prevention. Rather than simply finding a shoe that "fits," Hannah evaluates each dancer's strength, flexibility, alignment, foot structure, technical level, and training goals before selecting the best model and customization.
Each fitting includes education on proper shoe care, strengthening exercises using Theraband, safe progression to pointe work, and techniques to maximize both performance and the lifespan of the shoe. Hannah believes that a correctly fitted pointe shoe is one of the most important tools for preventing injury and helping dancers reach their full potential.
Dancers and studios routinely travel hundreds—and sometimes thousands—of miles for her expertise. To The Pointe has welcomed dancers from across the United States, including New York and Alaska, as well as internationally from Brazil and Honduras, making it a trusted destination for specialized pointe shoe fittings.
In addition to owning To The Pointe, Hannah continues teaching ballet and remains committed to ongoing education in dance medicine, pointe shoe technology, and emerging products. With a bachelor's degree in Finance and an MBA from The University of Southern Mississippi, she combines business leadership with decades of ballet experience to provide an unmatched level of service for dancers and their families.
At To The Pointe, every dancer receives individualized attention, expert guidance, and a fitting experience centered on safety, confidence, and excellence. Hannah's mission is simple: every dancer deserves a pointe shoe that allows them to dance stronger, safer, and longer.
